Smt. Revathi Subramanian began her musical journey with Sri. M.N. Subdaravaradhan, Principal of Sri Krishna Music School Society in Chennai. She graduated from this school as "Sangeetha Visharadha". Her initial training also included learning from her maternal grandfather Sri. Kallur Krishnamurthi. Over the last 3 decades, she has been under the tutelage of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan, one of the most respected Carnatic musicians today. Revathi regularly performs in both US and India and has been awarded multiple titles: “Gana Rathna” from Perambur Sangeetha Sabha, “Seva Rathna” from Cleveland Arandhana Committee, “Kala Seva Rathna”, “Sangeetha Samvadha Nidhi” from IFAASD etc. She has been teaching vocal music in the US for about 3 decades and serves as a trustee of Indian Fine Arts Academy, San Diego. 

Smt. Revathi is known as a pioneer in the area of Data Science and is Global Managing Director, Data Science for one of the largest consulting firms in the world. She has 35+ patents and has written a book “Bank Fraud: How to use technology to combat losses”. She is an avid rasika of music, gardener, crafter and philanthropist. She is happily married with her husband for 30+ years and has two sons.

Musical Ensemble

  • Banu is a devoted disciple of violin Maestro Shri. VVS. Murari, whose passion for music was rekindled eight years ago. Since then, she has tirelessly pursued her musical aspirations, culminating in her successful arangetram in November 2022. Following this milestone, Banu has ascended the stages of prestigious events, including the Chennai December Music Festival and Tiruvaiyaru Aradhana.

    By day, Banu excels as a Director of Product Management at Infogain, showcasing her corporate acumen. Additionally, she serves as Marketing and Branding Director for SaMaa Arts LLC USA and as a board member for Indian Fine Arts Academy of San Diego, demonstrating her commitment to promoting arts and culture.

    Banu's remarkable journey is a testament to her unwavering self- motivation and dedication, as she effortlessly juggles multiple roles - from corporate professional to family person to devoted music student. Her passion, perseverance, and talent make her a shining example of excellence in both the corporate and artistic worlds.

  • Ishaani Ramaswamy is an 8th grader from San Diego. She began her initial training under Kalaimamani Smt. Nirmala Rajasekar. She is currently doing her advanced training under the tutelage of Sangeeta Kalaacharya Dr RS Jayalakshmi. She has won several competitions at Hindu Margazhi, Cleveland Aradhana festival, participated in Melharmony festival 2023, was on the 2023 Indian raga leaderboard. She was blessed to be part of IFAASD Annual 2022 festival and Youth festival 2024.

    She has performed live short solo chamber concerts in SoCal area and ensemble concerts at Udupi Srkrishna Mutt, Kateel Durga parameshwari temple and for Homage for Mysore Vasudevachar concert series at Mysore.

    When she is not playing the veena, she loves solving Math puzzles and creating hyper realistic portraits.

  • Sindhu Gudimella is a rising 10th grader from Frisco. Texas. She is a very passionate Carnatic vocalist, violinist and flautist who started learning Carnatic music at a very young age. Her passion and enthusiasm towards western instruments led her to pick Bassoon and western flute as well as part of her school marching band.

    Her Carnatic vocal journey started at 4 years, and slowly cultivated her interested in violin and flute as well. She has been learning Carnatic flute for past 4 years, under the guidance of Vid. A.V. Krishna Prasad garu from Bangalore, India and completed her flute arangetram in August 2024.

    Sindhu has also completed a 4 year Carnatic vocal and violin certificate course with distinction from Sampada, Silicon Andhra University, which is associated with Sri Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad.

    She is blessed to be part of and has performed at various prestigious events along with esteemed artists and she also organizes various music initiatives and programs for seasoned artists in Frisco Texas. She is very thankful and indebted to all her gurus and mentors who played a crucial role in her musical development and her personal growth.   • Vamsi is a senior at Westview High School in San Diego. He began his training under Vidwan Arangi Srinivasa Rao at the age of 6 in Hyderabad, and continued under his tutelage for 11 years. He recently commenced his training under the tutelage of Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. Thiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam. He has won several competitions held by Sharada cultural trust and Kalasagaram,Hyderabad and the Telugu Association of North America (TANA). In July of this year, he completed his Mridangam arangetram, accompanying Vidwan Sri Bharat Sundar (Vocal) and Kum. Gayatri Sivani (Violin) in Hyderabad. Vamsi has performed at various temples and other venues with esteemed artists such as Vidushi Smt. Savita Sreeram, TTD Asthana Harikatha Vidwan Smt. Jayanti Savitri and Smt. Roopa Raman from Bengaluru as well as local artists here in San Diego. In June, Vamsi performed in a concert for an NGO organization called ‘Milaan’ in association with Kalaseve for a fundraiser for underprivileged girls that took place in Bengaluru. In 2022, Vamsi completed the 4 year Mridangam certification course with distinction from Sampada, Silicon Andhra University, which is associated with Sri Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Aside from Mridangam, he played for the Westview Basketball team for 3 years and was named team captain in his junior year.

  • Aarthi embarked on her journey into Bharathanatyam at the age of six. Her first steps were guided by Mrs. Madhavi Chandrasekar in Tiruchirapalli, India. Aarthi’s dedication and passion for Bharatanatyam led her to perform her Arangetram, a significant milestone in a dancer’s life, at the age of 15.

    As Aarthi matured, so did her understanding and interpretation of Bharatanatyam. At 18, she began training under her second guru, Dr. Srividhya Sundaresan. Under Dr. Sundaresan’s tutelage, Aarthi honed her skills and performed her Nattuvangam Arangetram at the age of 21, showcasing her mastery over the rhythmic aspects of Bharatanatyam.

    Aarthi’s performances, both solo and in groups, have graced numerous stages across South India. She has performed at prestigious venues such as the Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai, R.R Sabha in Trichy, Rockfort Temple in Trichy, Tirumalai Naickkar Mahal in Madurai, Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, and Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram. Her performances have not only showcased her technical prowess but also her ability to embody various characters. She has played pivotal roles like Andal, Devi, and Valli in many dance ballets, bringing these characters to life with her expressive Abhinaya and precise footwork.

    Currently, Aarthi is under the mentorship of Nritya Kalanidhi Padmashri Dr. Narthaki Nataraj, a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and the first transgender woman to be awarded India’s fourth-highest civilian award. Dr. Nataraj, a disciple of Tanjore Shri K P Kittappa Pillai, is known for her specialization in the Tanjore style Nayaki Bhava tradition. Aarthi’s association with Dr. Natraj adds a layer of credibility and depth to her dance, as she is now part of a lineage that traces back to the Tanjore Quartet brothers, considered the fathers of Bharatanatyam.

    In addition to dance, Aarthi has also learned music from Sangeetha Seva Ratnam Dr. C.M. Venkatachalam in San Diego. This understanding of music enhances her dance performances, as she can interpret and express the nuances of the music through her movements.

    Aarthi now resides in San Diego, California, USA, with her family. She continues to spread her love for Bharatanatyam by teaching the art form to those who appreciate its rich cultural heritage. On a personal front, Aarthi is currently a healthcare consultant and startup advisor with dozens of awarded and filed patents in the field of medical devices.
